Monday January 13th: St Mungo Mass in St Mungo’s Church, Townhead at 7.00

The Archbishop will preside at the St Mungo Mass next Monday in St Mungo’s Church, Parson St., Townhead. The Knights of St Columba will be there, the St Mungo Singers, Jane the organist, Noel the Harper, Jacqueline the Piper and some instrumentalists with parishioners, representatives of the schools and as many people from the Archdiocese as can mange to be there. It is a lovely occasion on which to pray for the people of the Archdiocese and of the city.

Let us pray

We pray for the city of St Mungo and its people: that we may have sound government, kindly and just leadership, effective support in health-care, education, housing and social services.
Lord, hear us

We pray for the Archdiocese, for Glasgow Churches Together, and for all the churches in our city: that they will continue to work ever more effectively for the unity for which Christ prayed.
Lord, hear us

We pray for the needs of our country, for the Queen, and for the governments in Edinburgh and Westminster, and for all who hold public office.
Lord, hear us

We pray for the work of the United Nations and for the other international bodies established to help countries work together. We renew our support for the efforts made by our own country to work with other countries to alleviate hardship and distress.

We renew our prayers for peace in the Holy Land, in Syria and in so many lands where people’s lives are made miserable or are taken from them by violence and war.
Lord, hear us.
