The St Mungo Festival
January 11th: the Vita Kentigerni service: the Mitchell Library, 12.00
There will be a short informal service in the Mitchell Library at 12.00 for 12.15 on Saturday 11th January. There will be a Harpist, and members of the St Mungo Singers and children from the Children’s Singing Studio (Glasgow Russian Orthodox School). A short excerpt from the medieval Vespers of St Kentigern (Mungo) will be sung, and the Archbishop, Philip Tartaglia, and the Minister of Glasgow Cathedral, Laurence Whitley, will read a short passage from the Life of Kentigern, by Jocelyn of Furness (12th century). The Glasgow anthem ‘Let Glasgow Flourish will be sung, and the event will be followed by tea and buns. All welcome.
