Night Prayer  12  Thursday

Led by David Smith

May the almighty Lord grant us a quiet night and a perfect end. Amen.

Verse

In the name of God the Father, in the name of God the Son,
in the name of God the Holy Spirit, in the name God.
In the name of God the Father, in the name of God the Son,
in the name of God the Holy Spirit, in the name God.

Introduction

Since today will not come again,
we ask pardon, heavenly Father,
for the times when we turned away from your grace
and were less than generous in our love for our fellow creatures.
Send us a night of healing peace
and may your Spirit guide us tomorrow in all that we do and say.

Kyrie, eleison.

Psalm 144 The Lord is loving, the Lord is kind.

The Lord is kind, full of compassion, slow to anger, abounding in love.
How good the Lord is to all, he shows compassion.
The Lord is good to all his creatures.
The Lord is loving, the Lord is kind.

The eyes of all creation look to you,
and you give them food that they need.
All creatures thank you, O Lord, your friends shall bless you,
The Lord is good  to all his creatures.
The Lord is loving, the Lord is kind.

The Lord is just in all his ways,
he is loving in all his deeds;
the Lord is close to all who call on him.
The Lord is good to all his creatures.
The Lord is loving, the Lord is kind.

May the God who gives us peace make you completely his
and keep your whole being spirit, soul and body free from all fault
at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Into your hands

Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
You have redeemed us, Lord, God of faithfulness,
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
Glory be to the Father,  to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
Into your hands, Lord, into your hands.

Save us, Lord, while we are awake; protect us while we sleep;
that we may keep watch with Christ and rest with him in peace.

from the Song of Simeon:
Lord, let your servant go in peace just as you promised long ago,
for my eyes have seen the salvation which you prepared for the nations to see,
a light to enlighten the pagans and the glory of your people, Israel,
and the glory of your people, Israel.

Let us pray
Lord our God, restore us again by the repose of sleep
after the fatigue of our daily work
so that continually renewed by your help
we may serve you in body and soul
through Christ ur Lord.
Amen.

Blessing
The Lord grant us a quiet night and a perfect end.
Amen.
