radioalba.org christian is an ecumenical, internet-based radio which promotes prayer and news of good things happening in the churches and among people of faith.
The Morning half-hour at 8.00 is repeated every 30 minutes until 12.00.
8.00: The Morning Prayers this week begin with the Feasts of the Epiphany and the Baptism of Christ and then go on to the weekdays of the 1st week of the year and the Morning Prayer for the Feast of St Mungo.
They are led in turn by Brendan Gill, Joe Docherty, Mary Bradley, Stephen Eric Smyth, John Carroll, Gerry Fitzpatrick, Pat Graham SND and Donald MacInnes. Music by The St Mungo Singers with cantors Helen Healy, Magdalen MacInnes, Grace Buckley and Noel Donnelly, organist Jane McKenna, and harpist Noel Donnelly.
8.15: Morning Prayer with the young is led by pupils of St Paul’s High School, Pollock with music by Carissa Swan and pupils from Trinity High, Cambuslang.
8.22: Canon Bob Hill looks ahead to Glasgow’s Feast of St Mungo in his comments on Luke 5: 1-11
8.27: Joe Docherty leads us in praying for peace.
Lunch-time half hour
12.00: The Scottish Catholic Observer comments on matters of contemporary concern
12:15: a service for the bereaved.
12.30: archive until 18.00
18.00: a repeat of the Lunch-time half hour and then archive until 20:00
The Evening Hour at 20:.00 is repeated at 21:00 and 22:00
20.00: Evening Prayer of the Epiphany is led by Gerry Fitzpatrick, and Evening Prayer of the Feast of St Mungo is led by Brendan Gill – with music by The St Mungo Singers, cantor Grace Buckley, organist Jane McKenna and harpist Noel Donnelly.
20.20: In our Magazine this week Dr Irene O’Brien introduces the Festival of St Mungo whose feast is celebrated in Glasgow next week. And Dr Derek Browning, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland speaks on his visit to Glasgow.
