Morning Prayer The Annunciation
Introit
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Glory to the Father, glory to the Son,
glory to the Holy Spirit now and for ever. Amen.
Prayer for Peace
Lord, We pray for peace in the Holy Land,
for Syria and all the other troubled countries
where people’s lives are spoiled or taken from them
by violence or war.
We pray for refugees,
and for generous hearts for those who need to show mercy.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
we sit for the psalm
Psalm 39: Here I am, O Lord! I come to do your will.
I waited, I waited for the Lord.
He stooped and he heard my cry.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song in the praise of our God.
Here I am, O Lord! I come to do your will.
You ask not for sacrifice and offerings.
You ask for an open ear.
You ask not for holocaust or victim.
Instead, Oh my God, here I am.
Here I am, O Lord! I come to do your will.
In the scroll of the book it stands written
that I listen and do your will.
My God I delight in your law,
your law finds its home in my heart.
Here I am, O Lord! I come to do your will.
Let us pray
Loving Father,
Your invitation to Mary to be the mother of your Son
was accepted with loving generosity.
Help us to be generous in our own response to you
and to our families, friends and neighbours in their needs.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
We stand for the Gloria
Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to peopleof good will.
We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you,
we give you thanks for your great glory,
Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.
Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father.
Amen.

This is the bread come down from heaven.
Whoever eats of it will never die.
This is the cup of eternal life.
Whoever drinks of it will live for ever.
Benedictus Verse 2
The Saviour comes to free us from our foes
from evil hands, from those who wish us ill.
So God’s great love for all his chosen people
is thus fulfilled in these our present times.
God’s sacred oath his covenant most holy
is called to mind, his promises made true.
Blessing
May the Lord bless us and keep us from all harm;
and may he lead us to eternal life. Amen
