Preparations are underway for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games but other events are taking place too.

May 25th and the following week: St Bride’s, Annette St., Cuthbertson St., and Holy Cross Primaries
pray for the city and all involved in the Games at Morning Prayer on radioalba.org – other schools
are working on their Morning Prayers.

June 15th: The ‘Games’ will feature – with some new songs – in the annual ‘Glasgow the Welcoming City’
on June 15th at 3.00 in the City Chambers.

June 21st: many of the St Mungo Singers will enjoy a day out on Arran marking and singing a Mass
for the Golden Jubilee of Fr Noel Colford.

June 27th : Diaconal Ordination at St Andrew’s Cathedral

June 29th: Diamond Jubilee Mass of Fr Noel Murray at St Aloysius, Springburn at 1.00.

July 20th: there will be a Glasgow Churches Together service welcoming the Commonwealth Games

July 22nd: the City Council is promoting an interfaith service at Glasgow Cathedral to mark the start
of the Games the following day. After the service on the 22nd the bells of Glasgow will ring.

July 27th: Mass to mark the Commonwealth Games will take place in St Andrew’s Cathedral at
some time after the completion of the Marathon when the roads will be open again.
