11th June, Glasgow City Chambers
Glasgow Churches Together are planning the annual Welcoming City celebration in the City Chambers – this year on the 11th June.
It will involve :
a welcome to visitors and refugees to the city , especially this year, Ukrainians,
an acknowledgement of the contribution of St Columba to our national well-being (his feast is on the 9th June)
the historic contribution of women to Scottish life, including the St Margaret Declaration as a further step towards re-building the christian community in faith and friendship. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Contributers will include The St Mungo Singers, children of St Denis’s Primary School,
Ukrainians, our small ensemble and a Salvation Army Band. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
