With sadness, the St Mungo Singers said farewell to another former member of the choir when some of the choir attended the funeral Mass of Christine Cairns on 22 July 2024 at St Ninian’s Church in Gourock. Christine and her twin sister Sr Maureen Coyle SND had both been members of the choir for many years. Mgr Gerry joined the concelebrating priests at the funeral Mass.
Parish priest Fr Gerry McNellis in his homily spoke of Christine’s love of her work as a teacher, her love of her faith and her involvement in the Parish liturgy, and her love of music which had seen her become a member of several choirs.
Rest in peace, Christine.
