and a happy New Year.Oh bring us some figgy pudding,
Oh bring us some figgy pudding,
Oh bring us some figgy pudding
a a cup of good cheer.

We won’t go until we get some,
We won’t go until we get some,
We won’t go until we get some
so bring some out here.

We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas
and a happy New Year

Let us pray

God our Father,
Jesus came among us
to show us how to be truly human.
As we celebrate his birth
let us become more like him in goodness and joy.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Silent night, holy night. All is calm, all is bright,
round yon virgin mother and child; holy infant so tender and mild:
sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night. Shepherds quake at the sight,
glories stream from heaven afar, heavenly hosts sing alleluia:
Christ, the Saviour is born, Christ, the Saviour is born.

Silent night, holy night. Son of God, love’s pure light
radiant beams from thy holy face, with the dawn of redeeming grace:
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth, Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.

Short reading: Hebrews 1:1-2

At various times in the past, and in various different ways
God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets.
but in our own time he has spoken through his Son.

intercessions

Christ was born in Bethlehem.
Let the people there and throughout the world
live in peace and happiness.
Lord, hear us

Glasgow is twinned with Bethlehem.
Let all of our citizens be glad
for all the good things,
And let us be generous in sharing with others.
Lord, hear us.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Blessing

May the Lord bless us and keep us from all harm;
and may he lead us to eternal life. AMEN

O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant. cribstar-jpeg
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem;
come and behold him,
born the king of angels:
O come let us adore him (3) Christ the Lord.

Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation,
sing all ye citizens of heaven above.
Glory to God in the highest:
O come let us adore him (3) Christ the Lord.
