This year the Feast of the Assumption, 15th August, one of the most ancient feasts honouring Our Lady, falls on a Monday and so will not be celebrated as a ‘holy day of obligation.’ Nevertheless parishes will mark it as a special day, each in their own way. St Mary’s, Calton, Glasgow will welcome parishioners and guests to a special ‘Vespers of Our Lady’ which will take the form of a devotional chain of music and prayer. More details to follow.

The hymn, ‘Mary, full of grace,’ was written by Pam Murray, set to the traditional tune ‘O Sanctissima, and was recorded by the St Mungo Singers in Ibrox Parish Church. Music available elswhere on this website under Liturgical and Musical Resources.
