To Christ the Seed: Words Traditional. Music (c) Sean O’Riada.
Sung by Anne Marie McKirdie and the St Mungo Singers with members of St Leo’s congregation at the St Andrew’s Day Evening Prayer in 2001.
Aig Criosd an siol; Aig Criosd am foghar, An iodhlannn Dhe, Gun tugar sinn.
Aig Criosd a’mhuir; Aig Criosd an t-iasg; An liontan Dhe, Gun glachar sinn.
O fhas gu aois; Is o’ aois gu bas; Do dha laimh, a’ Chiosd, A- nall tharainn.
O’baas gu crioch; On chrioch gu ath-fhas; Ann am Paileis na Grais Gun rachamaid.
To Christ the seed; to Christ the sheaves; so into God’s barns may we all be brought.
To Christ the sea; to Christ the fish; so into God’s nets may we all be caught.
From birth to growth; from growth to age; may your two arms, O Christ, fold us around. From age to death, from death to new birth in the palace of grace may we be found.
