The St Mungo Singers 2019 – 2020

Meeting at St Leo’s at 7.00 p.m. on Sunday 18thAugust

As the St Mungo Singers begin their 49th year of service in the Archdiocese and city, we look back on last year’s many events  and look forward to the new session.  We are preparing an illustrated choir ‘record of events’ and members can look forward to revisiting happy occasions.

The new session 2019-20120 will be a particularly interesting one and will begin with Mass at St Leo’s at 7.00 p.m. on Sunday 18thAugust, which will be followed by a rehearsal and introduction to the session’s first events, including the Glasgow Churches Together service for people affected by cancer on September 12th, then the Reception, the Mass and a Night Prayer as Glasgow welcomes the relics of St Therese on the 17th and 18th of September, and then the Centenary Mass for the Knights of St Columba on the 5thOctober.   After these events we will be involved in our usual ecumenical and civic events, and we are working on a choir trip. We are also looking ahead to our 50th anniversary in 2021 and plans are under way to make it special.

We always welcome new members. Come along and meet the choir at 7pm on Sunday evenings at St Leo the Great, 5 Beech Avenue, Glasgow G41 5BY.

For those using public transport there are lots of buses which stop on Paisley Road West beside the Climbing Centre and the Go Glasgow Hotel, and we are not far from Ibrox or Cessnock Underground.
