The Prophet Ezechiel lived during the time of the great Exile of the Jewish people in Babylon, some 600 years before Christ. He encouraged people not to lose hope, reminding them that they were the chosen people, and that God would bring them home. Verses of Chapter 36 are very typical of his teaching and some of them make up what is called a ‘Canticle’, or Biblical Hymn
