Russkaya Cappella will present a Remembrance Day concert
in Glasgow University Chapel
on Sunday 9 November
at 7.30.
Kastalsky’s Requiem for Fallen Brothers was composed during the First World War
and draws of the funeral music of the nations on the Allied side: Orthodox, Catholic
and Anglican. It has text options in several languages, and its title in French is
‘Commemoration fraternelle’. If you’re able to come, you’d recognise lots of text and some tunes.
