schedule for week beginning Nov 14th

Radio Alba majors on Morning, School, Evening and Night Prayer, and now has recorded Masses on Sunday, and Prayer from Glasgow Churches Together during the week.  It introduces the Sunday and daily readings and, through our half-hour Magazine, draws attention to the good works that the Church and the churches are doing.


Morning Hour 7.00 – 8.00 (repeated hourly until 12.00)

7.00: Morning Prayers for the week
7.15:  School Morning Prayer is led by Gisella with music by Magdalen and Donald MacInnes
7.20:  Canon Bob Hill looks ahead at the Gospel of next Sunday.
Margaret  Chapman gives the Notes for the daily readings from the Liturgical Calendar
7.25: The Call to prayer is devised by the Rev John McPake and recorded by Mary Welsh with harp music by Noel Donnelly and a psalm verse by the St Mungo Singers.

7.30: In our magazine, Fr Tom Magill continues his reflection on Mark’s Gospel with the Widow’s Mite.  Jean Swinbank reads Tim Redmond on Inspiration;   Cath reads  Mуnica Costeira’s report from MSF on their work in the Yemen.  Gerry Fitzpatrick reads a report on ‘the Sycamore Program’ in Open House; and Lyn McCrave recites her seasonal poem ‘Winter Gifts’


Lunchtime / Teatime slot – 2 hours

Sunday: 12.00 and 6.00: The Mass for the 33rd Sunday of the Year, on November 14th,  is led by Canon David Wallace of Our Lady of Lourdes, Cardonald, with music provided by the St Mungo Singers
Weekdays: 12.00 / 18.00 : In the Glasgow Churches Together Service, the Rev Robert Johnston helps us mark ‘Remembrance Day’ 

12.15: Lots of us remember and pray for our dead in November, so here is some requiem music!
12.30  / 18.30 Chatterbox with the Rev Liz Adam
1.00 / 19.00: Further reflections on the Gospels by Fr Denis McBride with a commentary on the psalms by Dr Noel Donnelly.

Evening hour  8.00 – 9.00 (repeated at 9.00 and 10.00)
