Night Prayer 6 Friday
with Marie Rogers
May the almighty Lord grant us a quiet night and a perfect end.
Amen.
Lord, you are in our midst,
we are called by your name,
do not desert us, Lord our God.
In the name of God, the Father, in the name of God the Son,
in the name of God the Holy Spirit,
in the name God.
In the name of God, the Father, in the name of God the Son,
in the name of God the Holy Spirit,
in the name God.
Introduction
As the day draws to its conclusion
we thank the Lord that we have seen his grace
in the lives of people round about us, in our families and friends,
our colleagues and in the wider community;
we ask for the wisdom t9 be encouraged by his presence
and for forgiveness for our own sins and failings.
Kyrie, eleison.
Psalm 24: Lord make me know your ways.
Lord, make me know your ways, teach me your pathways, Lord.
Teach me to walk in the truth of your ways, you are my Saviour,
Lord make me know your ways.
Show me your mercy, Lord, in love remember me.
Show me the love we have known from of old, now, in your goodness, Lord.
Lord, make me know your ways.
Yahweh is kind and true, guides those who go astray,
Shepherds the humble along the right path, teaches the poor his way.
Lord make me know your ways.
Reading
Lord, you are in our midst,
we are called by your name,
do not desert us, Lord our God.
Into your hands
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
You have redeemed us, Lord, God of faithfulness,
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
Glory be to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
Into your hands, Lord, into your hands.
Save us, Lord, whilst we are awake; protect us while we sleep;
that we may keep watch with Christ and rest with him in peace.
From the Song of Simeon
All powerful God, you give us leave to go in peace as you have willed.
Our eyes this day have seen your light; in love give quiet, peaceful end.
Let us pray
Come to visit us, Lord, this night
so that by your strength we may rise at daybreak
to rejoice in the resurrection 0f Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Blessing
May the Almighty Lord grant us a quiet night and a perfect end,
a perfect end.
Amen.
