Night Prayer  14  Saturday

Led by Gerry Devlin

May the almighty Lord grant us a quiet night and a perfect end. Amen.

Verse
I lift my soul to you, I trust you, Lord my God.
No-one who waits on you will ever be put to shame

Introduction

Since today will not come again,
we ask pardon, heavenly Father,
for the times when we turned away from your grace
and were less than generous in our love for our fellow creatures.
Send us a night of healing peace
and may your Spirit guide us tomorrow in all that we do and say.

Kyrie, eleison.

Psalm 84

Let us see, O Lord, your mercy, and give us your saving help.

I will hear what the Lord God has to say:  a voice that speaks of peace;
Peace for his people and his friends, and those who turn to him in their hearts.
Let us see, O Lord, your mercy, and give us your saving help.

Mercy and faithfulness have met, justice and peace have embraced.
Faithfulness shall spring from the earth  and justice look down from heaven.
Let us see, O Lord, your mercy, and give us your saving help.

The Lord will provide abundantly, our earth shall yield its fruit.
Justice shall go before him, and peace shall follow his steps.
Let us see, O Lord, your mercy, and give us your saving help.

Reading

May the God who gives us peace make you completely his
and keep your whole being, spirit soul and body
free from all fault at the coming of our Lord JesusChrist.

Into your hands

Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
You have redeemed us, Lord, God of faithfulness,
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
Glory be to the Father,  to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
Into your hands, Lord, into your hands.

Save us, Lord, while we are awake; protect us while we sleep;
that we may keep watch with Christ and rest with him in peace.

from the Song of Simeon
All powerful God,  you give us leave to go in peace as you have willed.
Our eyes this day have seen your light;
in love give quiet, peaceful end.

Save us, Lord, while we are awake; protect us while we sleep;
that we may keep watch with Christ and rest with him in peace.

Lord, our God, restore us again by the repose of sleep
after the fatigue of our daily work
so that continually renewed by your help
we may serve you in body and soul through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Blessing
May the Almighty Lord grant us a quiet night and a perfect end,
a perfect end.
Amen.
