A Morning Prayer with the St Mungo Singers for the Feast of the Assumption
Mary Full of Grace
O God, come to our aid . . . . . . .
Let us pray:
Lord God of Israel,
you led Mary along the paths of the prophets
and made her a sign of blessedness throughout the ages.
As she already shares fully in your divine life
may we follow her in faithfulness to her Son,
And be encouraged by her to prepare for the joy
of your kingdom.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
Psalm 62: O God, you are my God, for you I long.
READING See Isaiah 61:10
I rejoice heartily in the Lord, in my God is the joy of my soul;
For he has clothed me with a robe of salvation,
and wrapped me in a mantle of justice, like a bride bedecked with her jewels.
Benedictus: God swore his oath to Abraham and Sarah . . . . .
Intercessions
Father of us all, you chose Mary to be the mother of Jesus :
Bless all who follow her example of generosity
and bring Christ to people everywhere.
Hail, Mary, full of grace
Mary shared the life of Jesus and followed him to the cross;
Give us the faith to follow you all the days of our life
Hail, Mary, full of grace
Mary’s glory is her willingness to do God’s will:
may we always do what is pleasing to you
Hail, Mary, full of grace
Mary, holds a special place in the life and devotion of the church:
