Morning Prayer
for the Feast of the Visitation
Mary, full of grace, chosen from our race,
faithful daughter of Israel. You are called the second Eve,
you the Saviour did conceive, Ora, ora pro nobis.
Mary spoke the words: Magnify the Lord,
God is mighty and wonderful. I, the servant of the Lord,
will be blessed for evermore.” Ora, ora pro nobis.
Prayer for Peace
Lord, we pray for peace in the Holy Land,
for Syria and all the other troubled countries
where people’s lives are spoiled or taken from them
by violence or war.
We pray for refugees,
and for generous hearts for those who need to show mercy.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
O God, come to our aid: O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory to the Father, glory to the Son,
glory to the Holy Spirit now and for ever. Amen.
We sit for the Psalm
Psalm 62: O God, you are my God, for you I long.
O God, you are my God, for you I long, for you my soul is thirsting.
My body pines for you, my God, like a dry weary land without water.
O God, you are my God, for you I long.
I gaze on you in the sanctuary to see your strength and glory,
for your love is better than life itself, my lips will speak your praise.
O God, you are my God, for you I long.
On you I muse throughout the night, on my bed I remember you,
for you have been my refuge and your right hand holds me fast.
O God, you are my God, for you I long.
Glory to the Father, glory to the Son,
Glory to the Holy Spirit now and for ever. Amen.
O God, you are my God, for you I long.
Let us pray
Almighty, ever-living God, you inspired the Blessed Virgin Mary,
when she was carrying your Son,
to visit Elizabeth.
Grant that, always docile to the voice of the Spirit,
we too may glorify your Name.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
We pause for a moment of quiet prayer and then stand for the Gloria
Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to people of good will.
We praise you, we bless you, we adore you,
we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory,
Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.
Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Reflection
The Intercessions
We turn to our Saviour
who chose to be born of the Virgin Mary. Confident that he will hear us, we say:
Sun of Justice, you showed your day was dawning
in the immaculate Virgin Mary;
help us to walk in the daylight of your presence.
Blest, be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Eternal Word, your mother Mary chose the path of generous service;
let us follow her example and hunger for the food of everlasting life.
Blest, be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Saviour of the world, by your redemptive power
Mary was free from every stain of sin;
deliver us from the selfishness that affects us all.
Blest, be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ, our Redeemer, you made the Virgin Mary the sanctuary of your presence
and the temple of the Holy Spirit;
make us bearers of your Spirit, in mind, heart and body.
Blest, be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
During the Preparation of the Gifts, we sing:
O Lord, hear my prayer, O Lord, hear my prayer,
When I call answer me. O Lord, hear my prayer,
O Lord, hear my prayer, Come and listen to me.
Bellahouston Sanctus . . . . .
The memorial:
We proclaim your death, O Lord, and profess your resurrection
until you come, until you come, until you come again.
Doxology
Bellahouston Agnus Dei: Lamb of God, you take away . . .
Communion Antiphon
This is the bread come down from heaven.
Whoever eats of it will never die.
This is the cup of eternal life.
Whoever drinks of it will love for ever.
After Mass:
May the Lord bless us, and keep us from all harm,
And may he lead us to eternal life.
