The Glasgow Archdiocesan Music Committee welcomes anyone and everyone involved in music for the Liturgy

to an updating and renewing ‘Fresh Start” Conference at 7 p.m. on Wednesday October 12th

in St Mary’s, Abercromby Street, Glasgow – see the poster below.

With a great variety of music, supported by CDs to take away, we will look at
the Introductory Rites of Mass – Entry Songs and Introits, Penitential Rites and Glory to God
we will re-examine the use of hymns –  asset or liability! – and contrast them with Entry Songs / Introits

The Liturgy of the Word:
the psalms of the approaching events:  the current Season of the Year; All Souls Day; St Andrew’s Day;
Advent and Christmas.

The Liturgy of the Eucharist
The Sanctus and the memorial Acclamations.
The opportunity for the presiding priest to help us ‘lift up your hearts’ by singing the Preface
The importance of respecting the Sanctus or ‘Holy, Holy, Holy’ as the song of the people

The Communion and the concluding Rites:
from the Lord’s Prayer to the thanksgiving and the Blessing.

Tea will be available at 8.45
Donations will be welcome towards the cost of CDs and music.

The Conference will be followed up with
 
a Mass for the Year of Mercy
at  3 p.m.
on Sunday 13th November
