A Morning Prayer 5
Blessed are the poor in spirit, the kingdom of heaven is theirs.
Glory to the Father, glory to the Son,
glory to the Holy Spirit now and for ever. Amen.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, the kingdom of heaven is theirs.
Lord,
We pray for peace in the Holy Land,
for Syria and all the other troubled countries
where people’s lives are spoiled or taken from them
by violence or war.
We pray for refugees,
and for generous hearts for those who need to show mercy.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Psalm 50 O God, you will not spurn a humbled, contrite heart.
Have mercy on me, God, in your kindness. In your compassion blot out my offence.
O wash me more and more from my guilt and cleanse me from my sin.
O God, you will not spurn a humbled, contrite heart.
My offences truly I know them. My sin is always before me.
Against you alone have I sinned; what is evil in your sight I have done.
O God, you will not spurn a humbled, contrite heart.
A pure heart create for me, O God, put a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from your presence, nor deprive me of your holy spirit.
O God, you will not spurn a humbled, contrite heart.
Glory to the Father, glory to the Son, Glory to the Holy Spirit now and for ever. Amen.
O God, you will not spurn a humbled, contrite heart.
Let us pray
Lord, your name is ‘I will have compassion.’
As we acknowledge our sins and the sins of your people,
we trust in your forgiveness and love,
and our mouths declare your praise
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
After a short pause we stand for the Collect or the Glory to God
Before the Gospel we sing:
Alleluia, alleluia.
This is what the Lord asks of you, this, only this:
to act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with your God.
Alleluia, alleluia.
Intercessions
All glory to God the Father of all, to the Son and the Spirit give praise.
Oh, circle us now with love and with peace, our strength and our guide, Lord, we pray.
We have nothing to fear when you are so near. You are King of the night and the day.
All glory to God the Father of all, to the Son and the Spirit give praise.
I ask you, my God, to bless and protect the fam’ly and friends that I love.
Enfold us in love, surround us with peace, be our strength and our light and our life.
All glory to God the Father of all, to the Son and the Spirit give praise.

Benedictus Verse 5
For all our sins will freely be forgiven, the heart of God pours loving- kindness forth,
God comes to us like dawn comes to the sky bringing true light, where darkness once prevailed.
So all who live in fear of death’s dark shadow, God will now guide into the way of peace.
At the end of Mass :
May the Lord bless us and keep us from all harm,
and may he lead us to eternal life. Amen
