O Light from Light, our footsteps guide!

Introduction
Lord, thank you for the love we have seen reflected in the faces of our family
and in others we have met today.
Forgive us for the times when we ourselves did not reflect that love to others,
when we were grudging in generosity or missed chances to grow in goodness.
Grant us a peaceful night and the strength to renew your life within us tomorrow.
Kyrie, eleison.
Psalm 68
Hear my prayer, answer me, Lord, turn to me in your goodness.
Hear my prayer, answer me, Lord, turn to me in your love.
This is my prayer to you, my heartfelt prayer to you:
In your love, Lord, answer me, with a help that never fails,
In your kindness answer, in compassion turn to me.
Hear my prayer, answer me, Lord, turn to me in your goodness.
Hear my prayer, answer me, Lord, turn to me in your love.
In poverty and pain, your help will lift me up.
I will praise your name in song, glorify and give you thanks.
In your kindness answer, in compassion turn to me.
Hear my prayer, answer me, Lord, turn to me in your goodness.
Hear my prayer, answer me, Lord, turn to me in your love.
Reading
Lord, you are in our midst, we are called by your name.
Do not desert us, O Lord our God.
Into your hands
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
– Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
You have redeemed us, Lord, God of faithfulness,
– Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
Glory be to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
– Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
Into your hands, Lord, into your hands.
Save us, Lord, while we are awake; protect us while we sleep;
that we may keep watch with Christ and rest with him in peace.
from the Song of Simeon
Lord, let your servant go in peace just as you promised long ago,
for my eyes have seen the salvation which you prepared for the nations to see,
a light to enlighten the pagans and the glory of your people,
and the glory of your people, Israel.
Let us pray
Give us grace, almighty God,
so to unite ourselves in faith with your only son
who underwent death and lay buried in the tomb
that we may rise again in newness of life with him
who lives reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
Blessing
The Lord grant us a quiet night and a perfect end.
Amen.
