Night Prayer (8) Sunday
Led by John Campbell
Guard us, Lord as the apple of your eye,
hide us in the shadow of your wing.
Glory to the Father, glory to the Son,
glory to the Holy Spirit now and for ever. Amen,
Introduction
As the day draws its conclusion, we thank the Lord that we have seen his grace
in the lives of people round about us, in our families and friends, our colleagues, and in the wider community.
We ask for the wisdom to be encouraged by his presence and for forgiveness for our own sins and failings.
Kyrie
Ps 17: I love you, Lord, my strength
Reading: Listen Israel: the Lord our God is the one Lord; you shall love the Lord your God . . . .
Into your hands
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
– Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
You have redeemed us, Lord, God of faithfulness,
– Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit,
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
– Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit.
Save us, Lord, while we are awake; protect us while we sleep;
that we may keep watch with Christ and rest with him in peace.
from the Song of Simeon:
All power Lord, you give us leave to go in peace as you have said;
. . . . . . . . . .
Come to visit us, Lord, this night, so that by your strength we may rise at daybreak to rejoice in the resurrection of Christ your Son, who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Blessing:
May the almighty Lord grant us a quiet night and a perfect end,
a perfect end.
Amen.
