May the almighty Lord grant us a quiet night and a perfect end.
Amen.

Whatever you do (Colossians 3:27)

Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God
as you give thanks,  through Christ,  to God the Father.

Glory to the Father, glory to the Son,
glory to the Holy Spirit now and for ever.  Amen.

Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God
as you give thanks through Christ to God the Father.

Introduction

As the day draws to its conclusion
we thank the Lord
that we have seen his grace in the lives of people round about us,
in our families and friends,
our colleagues and in the wider community.
We ask for the wisdom to be encouraged by his presence
and for forgiveness for our own sins and failings.

Kyrie, eleison.  Kyrie, eleison. Kyrie, eleison.

Psalm 17: I love you, Lord my strength.

I love you, Lord, my strength, my rock, my fortress, my saviour,
My God is the rock where I shelter, my shield my mighty help.
I love you, Lord my strength.

The Lord is worthy of praise, He saves me from all my foes,
Long life to the Lord, God my Saviour, All praise to God who saves.
I love you, Lord my strength.

I thank you, Lord, for your love.  I praise you for all your kindness,
I love you, O God, for your goodness, I love you, Lord my strength.
I love you, Lord my strength.

Reading  Ephesians 4:26-27:

Even if you are angry, you must not sin:
never let the sun set on your anger,
or else you will give the devil a foothold.

sung:  I love you, Lord my strength.

Responsory

Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit.
You have redeemed us, Lord God of truth.
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
Into your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit.

Save us, Lord, while we are awake;
protect us while we sleep
that we may keep watch with Christ
and rest with him in peace.

From the Song of Simeon

Come to visit us, Lord, this night,
so that by your strength we may rise at daybreak
to rejoice in the resurrection of Christ your Son,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Blessing

May the almighty Lord grant us a quiet night
and a perfect end.    Amen.
