 I understand my duty, O Lord, is to obey your word.
The law from your mouth means more to me than silver and gold.
Lord, how I love your holy law! Lord, how I love your law.

 So may your love be ready, O Lord, quick to console your servant;
and give me your love that I may live, your love my delight.
Lord, how I love your holy law! Lord, how I love your law.

 And that is why I love your law more than the finest gold;
and why I now rule my life by it; I hate what is false.
Lord, how I love your holy law! Lord, how I love your law.

 Your will is wonderful indeed, therefore I obey.
Your word gives light as it unfolds; the simple are taught.
Lord, how I love your holy law! Lord, how I love your law.
