How blest are those who have died in the Lord.  Let them rest from their labours,
Let them rest for their good works go with them, For their good works go with them.
Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine on them.
May they rest in peace.  May they rest  in peace.
May they rest in peace.  May they rest  in peace.

Psalm 26 : The Lord is my light, the Lord is my help.

The Lord is my light and my help: of whom then, shall I be afraid?
The strength in my life is the Lord,  before whom shall I ever tremble?
The Lord is my light, the Lord is my help.

One thing I ask of the Lord:  to live with him for evermore.
O Lord, hear my voice, in mercy answer!  I seek you, dismiss not your servant.
The Lord is my light, the Lord is my help.

Glory to God the Father, glory to the Son,
Glory to God the Holy Spirit now and for ever. Amen
The Lord is my light, the Lord is my help.

Lord of life,
your unfailing help sustains us
in hope of the salvation you promise.
May those who have gone before us be happy with you,
and welcome us into your Kingdom when our time comes.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen

God of the living,
You have given us life in this world.

Though  Jesus Christ was in the form of God,
he did not count such equality to be grasped.
Instead, he freely emptied out himself,
and took the form of a servant, was born like us.

In human form he chose humility,
and gave himself up to dying upon a cross.
Because of this our God exalted him, and raised him
gave him a name above every name.

At Jesus’ name now every knee should bow
be they in heav’n or on earth or creation’s depths.
All glory be to God, the Three in One,
The Father, Son, Holy Spirit, for evermore.

We believe that Jesus died and rose again,
and that it will be the same for those who have died in Jesus:
God will bring them with him.

Just as Jesus died and rose
So those who sleep in him will be restored by God.
As in Adam all have died, so all will live in Christ, will live in Christ.
Glory to the Father, glory to the Son,
Glory to the Holy Spirit now and for ever.
Amen.

Blest be the Lord the God of Israel, who came to us and brought us back from sin.
God raised for us a Saviour who is mighty, his Saviour-Son from David’s house and line.
God promised this through holy men and women who spoke for him down through the mists of time.

The Saviour comes to free us from our foes,   from evil hands, from those who wish us ill.
So God’s great love for all his chosen people is thus fulfilled in these our present times.
God’s sacred oath, his covenant most holy, is called to mind, his promises made true.

Let us cry out to God the almighty Father,
Who raised Christ from the dead
And will bring life to our own mortal bodies:
Lord, bring us to life in Christ.

Holy Father, in baptism we have died and been buried in Christ
and shared his resurrection.
Bestow on us the gift of living a new life –
so that even when we die, we may live forever with Christ.

Lord, bring us to life in Christ.

Most provident Father, you have given us the living bread
that comes down from heaven to be our constant holy food:
make us have eternal life and be raised up on the last day.
Lord, bring us to life in Christ.

Lord, you sent an angel to give your Son strength in his agony:
as we are dying, bring us your gentle consolation.
Lord, bring us to life in Christ.

You rescued the three young men from the burning fiery furnace:
Free the souls of the departed from the penalties deserved by their sins.
Lord, bring us to life in Christ.

God of the living and the dead, you raised Jesus from the dead:
Raise up the dead, and bring us as well as them to eternal glory.
Lord, bring us to life in Christ.

Our Father . . . . .

May the souls of the faithful departed
Through the mercy of God rest in peace, rest in peace.

Let us pray

Lord, in your kindness accept our prayers:
as our faith looks up to your Son, risen from the dead,
So may we receive a more solid hope
Of the future resurrection of your servants.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and   ever. Amen.

May the Lord bless us and keep us from all harm;
and may he lead us to eternal life.
