To Jerusalem we’re heading, heading to Jerusalem!
To Jerusalem we’re heading, heading to Jerusalem!
What will our future be? What will our future be?
Soloists :
What will our future be?
What will our future be?
But why are you all doing this?
What’s the reason that you’re here?
Soloists:
Because the Spirit of the Lord is on Jesus:
Jesus is God’s anointed One.
He has come to bring good news to those who suffer,
Proclaiming liberty, sight to the blind!
Freeing all the people from oppression
Because now is the time, the time of God’s favour:
Jesus is God’s anointed One.
Chorus:
He has come to bring good news to those who suffer,
Proclaiming liberty, sight to the blind!
Freeing all the people from oppression
Because now is the time, the time of God’s favour:
Jesus is God’s anointed One.
Oh, we’re on the road with Jesus, with Jesus, with Jesus,
Oh, we’re on the road with Jesus, the road from Galilee.
Oh, we’re on the road with Jesus, with Jesus, with Jesus,
Oh, we’re on the road with Jesus, the road from Galilee
No 2: Being a Disciple (Luke 9:51)
Soloists:
Sometimes it’s hard being a disciple,
for we’re always on the move.
Sometimes the folk want to hear our message.
Others just don’t want to know.
Chorus:
Sometimes we don’t know where we’ll be sleeping,(Lk 9:57)
So we put our trust in God.
Sometimes it’s hard being a disciple,
for we’re always on the move.
Soloists:
Once over seventy of us were sent out two by two.(Luke 10: 1)
We preached, we taught, we cured the sick,
God’s Kingdom was made clear.
We preached, we taught, we cured the sick!
preached, we taught, we cured the sick.
Chorus:
We came back really overjoyed so pleased we were and proud!
But Jesus said: Rejoice instead that God sees all you do.
We preached, we taught, we cured the sick!
We preached, we taught, we cured the sick.
No 3: God’s Healing Power

To Jerusalem we’re heading, heading to Jerusalem!

What will our future be? What will our future be?
Soloists 1:
What will our future be?
What will our future be?
Soloists 2:
What happened as you went along?
Were there healings and the like?
Soloists 3: In all the towns and villages we passed through on the way, People brought out all their sick and asked Jesus to pray.
Chorus: One day as we left for Galilee, three lepers came and said: Will you please heal us all, release us from our pain? Jesus was filled with love for them, felt pity and distress. He said: “Do what the law prescribes and go see the priests.
As the ten lepers went along, they found they had been healed. One of them came running back to Jesus shouting “thanks”. This one was Samaritan and not of our faith, Yet it was he who was the best at giving praise to God.
