Ecumenism

For ecumenical events, the St Mungo Singers and the Archdiocesan Music Committee work primarily through and with the Music and Worship Committee of Glasgow Churches Together (GCT), and have been blessed by our association with a number of  Salvation Army Bands including that of  Rutherglen, Parkhead, Govan, and with other groups including Aisling Gheal, the Southside Fiddlers, St Andrew’s Secondary Brass Ensemble,  the Glasgow Russian Choir, the Cathedral Strings, the Govan Gaelic Choir, the recently formed Glasgow Irish Choir,  tha Archdiocesan Arts Project,  the Scottish Asian Christian Fellowship, many school choirs including St Patrick’s Primary, St Rose of Lima Primary, St Timothy’s Primary, Our Lady of the Rosary Primary, St Catherine’s Primary, the two Gorbals Primary Schools and many others, and with pipers Scott Glasgow and Jacqueline Riley, and Harpists Theresa Irving and Carissa Bovil. . . . .  

Events in recent years have included:   St Andrew’s Day Services at a number of churches throughout the city, the Blessing of the Glasgow Crib in George Square, Carols at the Christmas Market in Cathedral Square,  

                                                                                                                        

The Carols for Peace  at the City Chambers, the civic ceremony and service in the Mitchell Library for the St Mungo Festival, the ecumenical service for St Mungo’s Day in Glasgow Cathedral, the Week of Prayer Service at various venues, and  Glasgow the Welcoming City in June at the City Chambers.
