The following note is going out to local schools this week:

Annual Schools Cantata 2014: ‘David and his Song’

There will be a meeting
at 2.30 on Tuesday 30th September in St Leo’s Church house, 56 Beech Avenue, G41 5BY
to discuss the feasibility of staging the Cantata ‘David and his Song’ with schools
possibly on Tuesday November 18th (unless we choose another date)
in Wellington Church, University Avenue, Glasgow We suggest this Cantata because it tells the story of King David in an entertaining and attractive manner and lets us promote the rich and varied heritage of psalms that are still such a significant part of our cultural
and religious inheritance.

We hope to have the support of music students from Glasgow University Education Dept and from some schools.
We will provide a music score, a words leaflet and a Cd and a DVD to help children learn the music.

If your school is interested in participating please let us know by attending the meeting or
by emailing gfglasgow@gmail.com or office@glasgowchurches.org.uk

If you would like to volunteer soloists, dancers, readers or mimers etc please let us know.

With kindest regards,

Gerry Fitzpatrick, Convenor, Glasgow Churches Together Music and Worship Committee

Elspeth Glasgow, Secretary, GlasgowChurches Together
